Resources for Educators at JCPL

The JCPL Children's Department is committed to developing lifelong readers. We offer tailor made tours and individually created teacher baskets to help you as you educate the children of Jessamine County. You may use the assignment alert form to let us know what you will be studying. This allows us to be prepared to help students when they visit the library. Library Tour Request Form

The JCPL Children's staff would love the opportunity to welcome you to the library. Please fill out the form below so that we may adequately prepare for your visit. Please allow at least 2 weeks lead time when requesting a visit. When your tour has been scheduled, a confirmation of your request will be e-mailed to you. All groups meet in the lobby of the library unless other arrangements are made. Teacher Baskets

A teacher basket is a collection of up to fifteen items on a subject, fiction, nonfiction or a combination of both thoughtfully selected by the Children's staff, for use by public school or homeschool teachers. The baskets take time to prepare, so please give us 3-5 days notice. Baskets may be requested using the online form provided or by calling the library at 859-885-3523. We will call or e-mail you when your basket is ready for pick up.

Assignment Alert

Will you be studying dinosaurs? Reading "Wrinkle in Time" as a class? Exploring Mammoth Cave? Allow us time to prepare to help your students. Please send an e-mail containing the following information so that we will be as prepared as possible when the students arrive!

Assignment - topic, requirements
How we can help - Would you like materials pulled?
Might we purchase additional copies of a book?
