Overdue Fines Daily overdue fines are charged for each item that is not returned or renewed by its due date. If fines, estimated fines and/or other fees on your card exceed $10.00, your borrowing privileges (including the ability to renew items and place holds) and computer privileges will be blocked until the balance on your account is less than $10.00.

The Library distributes overdue notices by mail as a courtesy. Failure to receive an overdue notice does not exempt a library card holder from responsibility for overdue fines.

Accounts with items overdue 45 days will be billed to the customer with a $5.00 processing fee per item. If the materials are not returned or paid for within ten days of billing, the account will be sent to a library collection agency -»Site. A non-negotiable $10 processing fee will also be added to the account to cover the cost of the materials collection service.

You may also be charged replacement costs if you lose or damage library material. Customers with lost or damaged items will be charged the library's cost to replace them through our authorized suppliers. The library does not accept replacement items in lieu of payment nor negotiate the price to replace material.

Customers returning items with missing pieces will be notified by the library. These items will remain checked out on the customer's account until all pieces are returned. If the items become overdue, fines will result. If the missing materials are not returned within seven days of notification, the library will treat the item as a damaged material as stated above.

The library does supply its customers the option of a payment plan. Customers who pay ten percent of their account balance at least once every 30 days may borrow up to two items at a time. Failure to maintain monthly payment activity may result in referral to a library collection agency -»Site.
