Here’s how it works:Reading must be done in the library. Fines will be forgiven on overdue items only, not on lost items. Each 15 minutes of reading forgives $1.50. Reading must be completed in 15 minute increments. Maximum Read Off Your Fines time is 2 hours per day. An adult, parent or caregiver may read to a pre-reading child. Available for all ages. To sign in, stop by the Ask a Librarian Desk.

Mark Hayward has been a variety arts performer since 1990. He is a World Yo-yo Champion, a member of a World Champion Juggling Team, and a Spin Top Champion. His mom is proud. Mark has traveled the world with a yo-yo on his finger (well, mostly in his pocket), and has made appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman (twice), The Late Late Show with James Corden, America’s Got Talent, and the NBC Nightly News (without committing a crime). Someday Mark hopes to perform for both the President and the Queen. Not being a convicted criminal should help with that.
No registration is required.
If you want to exercise, but need to start slowly, this is the perfect class for you. We can help you get moving gently so you can avoid exacerbating injuries or existing conditions. These exercises can be adapted to fit nearly any physical impediment. Trained instructor Paula Hutchens will be your guide to exercising with ease. No registration is required.

Meet new people, get some exercise, and visit area parks this summer with our Walk Around Kentucky program. Each week the library will host an off-site walk at parks around the Bluegrass. Join us for these group walks, walk with friends and family, or walk on your own. No matter where and when you walk (or run or roll), keep track of all the miles you cover between June 3 and July 27 on the logs available in the library or online. You can submit one log per week. All logs will be entered in a drawing to win one of six $50 Amazon gift cards.
Lunch will be offered at JCPL by Jessamine Co. Schools through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 2:00-2:30pm from June 3 – August 2. Per JCPL policy, any child 10 or under must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Meals are available at NO COST to anyone 18 & under. No income requirements.
