JCPL Book Club: The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle @ JCPL at Davis Conference Room

Joins us for a group dicussion of Stuart Turton’s The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. Copies of the book are available for check out at the Customer Service Desk. Refreshments will be served and registration is required. 

Evelyn Hardcastle will die. Every day until Aiden Bishop can identify her killer and break the cycle. But every time the day begins again, Aiden wakes up in the body of a different guest. Tabletop Gaming: Evolution @ JCPL at Meeting Room 5/6

Join us for an evening of tabletop gaming, a smoothie bar and snacks. Andy Spaeth from the Rusty Scabbard will be here to teach players the ropes of the game and answer questions.  Multiple copies of the games will be provided so that several groups can play at the same time. Registration is required.

Civic Lab Discussion Group @ JCPL at Davis Conference Room

The Civic Lab at JCPL offers information, activities, and discussion on issues facing our community. You can participate by checking out the display in the main library and submitting your activities. We also invite you to join our monthly article discussion group. For November, we’ll discuss three short articles about hunger in Kentucky. Pick up copies of the articles at the Ask a Librarian Desk.

The library will provide light refreshments. Registration is required.

Meet the Artist: Michael Moore @ JCPL at Gallery

Michael Moore has been an avid concert goer and photographer for over 40 years.  His photographs cover everything from his first concert, The Rolling Stones in 1975, to Trace Adkins in 2018. Michael’s work will be on exhibit in the JCPL gallery from December 1, 2018 to January 31, 2018. Stop in, learn about Michael’s experiences, share your own concert memories and enjoy light refreshments with us. No registration required.

Introduction to Feldenkrais Exercise Therapy @ JCPL at Meeting Room 5/6

Learn what it feels like to become better attuned with your body with an Awareness Through Movement® class, a form of somatic education taught by Feldenkrais Method® practitioner, Mary Rudd. By exploring how you move, learning to notice and sense your body’s unique patterns of walking, standing, reaching, turning, etc., you can learn new and more efficient options for using yourself. Students eventually discover that becoming more in touch with their body means becoming more settled in their whole being, and feel grounded and energized by new possibilities.
