Flamenco Louisville performs authentic flamenco dance and music, bringing a little bit of Spain to audiences. Dancers in colorful costumes perform accompanied by guitar, singing and percussion. Audience members will be asked to join in with words of encouragement (“jaleos”) and hand clapping (“palmas”). Flamenco is a system of singing, music and dance indigenous to the southern region of Spain called Andalucia. Flamenco Louisville is an inclusive, participatory community of dancers, musicians, teachers and aficionados who wish to keep the Flamenco experience alive though we live far from Spain. No registration is required.
