Sprout: The Origins of St. Patrick’s Day

March 17, 2017 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
JCPL at Meeting Room 5/6

Celebrated by the Irish as a religious holiday for over a thousand years, the custom of St. Patrick’s Day has spread throughout the world. For this Sprout program, the Ohio History Connection will take us on a virtual field trip where we will learn about the origins of St. Patrick’s Day, who St. Patrick was, why it’s celebrated as a holiday, and how it’s celebrated throughout the world.  Sprout is a publication and a program that encourages you to expand your knowledge & skills by exploring a new topic each month. Pick up the Sprout packet from the display in the main library.  Just by reading the packet and submitting a ticket, you’ll be entered into a prize drawing.  Learn more and earn more entries into the drawing by attending the Sprout program.
