Urban Forest Initiative

May 16, 2019 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
JCPL at Meeting Room 5/6

Join representatives from UFI and the UK Cooperative Extension Office for a talk on storm water and stewardship and how lawn care practices affect the quality of your water. Homeowners will learn simple actions they can take in their yards to improve water quality and save money and time. A free soil test will be offered to all participants. Following the program, the group will plant a yellow poplar tree in City County Park.

The Urban Forest Initiative is a collaborative group of UK academic and Lexington
community stakeholders with an active interest in enhancing the urban
forest.  Their mission is to raise awareness of the ecological, social and
economic benefits provided by the urban tree canopy.

Registration is required.
