Virtual Field Trip: Greenville Zoo

October 5, 2017 @ 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
JCPL at Meeting Room 5/6

JCPL’s virtual field trips allow you to visit far off places, see artistic masterpieces, experience live performances, go behind the scenes and get up close and personal all without leaving Jessamine County.  Using High Definition videoconferencing technology, participants are able to interact live with presenters at hundreds of content providers around the world.  Virtual field trips provide the opportunity for patrons to experience the history and appreciation of visual and performing arts, explore the sciences, learn about history and more.

Every child, birth – 5th grade, who attends a virtual field trip will receive a FREE gift book of their choice.

In October we will visit the Greenville Zoo in South Carolina.  How does the lion get a shot? Where does the zoo get the animals who live there? This program is designed to familiarize you with the animals in the Greenville Zoo. Through the “Who’s Who in the Zoo” your students will earn cool facts and behind the science information concerning the care for our animals. Zoo keeping techniques will be emphasized.

Program Objectives and Common Core standard alignments available upon request.

All ages are welcome and no registration is required.  Children ten and under must be accompanied by an adult.
